Walking the In-Between featuring Soyoung Jung
June 5 - July 29
Opening Reception:  Friday, June 5, 5:30 - 7:30 PM

This exhibit features watercolor and dry pigment artwork that combines landscapes, alleyways, and architectural forms, representing spaces of memory, reflection, and transition. Through layered imagery on paper, Soyoung Jung examines the subtle connections between different cultures, places, and states of being.

The SAA Collective is excited to present its newest featured space, the Underground Gallery. This exhibition space is dedicated to enhancing the community's art experience by exhibiting a wide variety of artists, media, and styles from both our collective members and Central Illinois artists.

Call For Entry Opportunities:  The Underground organizes two annual community group exhibitions: one in the spring and another in the fall. Additionally, we welcome applications from artists interested in exhibiting a solo or group show. Each artist participating in a group application must complete the form and specify the proposed members in the comments section.

All group or solo show opportunities will be scheduled to begin in 2028 at this time.

NOTIFICATION
Call for Entry notifications will be emailed on the date proposed in the call. The Underground reserves the right to accept or decline any artwork submission, subject to submission outlines. The decision of the curatorial team is final and not subject to appeal.
Proposals for solo and group exhibitions will be reviewed, and applicants will be contacted within 14 business days of submission. If accepted, the exhibition dates suggested by the artist are not guaranteed; however, we will do our best to coordinate a schedule that works for everyone involved.
Artists who have enough work to fill the gallery are welcome to apply for or may be invited to hold a solo exhibition. If an artist does not have sufficient artwork to occupy the space, they can either apply to be paired with another artist by the curator or propose a group show.
