Beginning Watercolor

Tuesdays, July 7 - August 11 [6 Weeks]: 6:30 - 9 PM [Kate Worman-Becker]
This class is designed to build a solid foundation in watercolor painting. As a class we will paint 2 exercises that demonstrate the layering process of watercolor, as well as 4 paintings focusing on the traditional practices of linear brushwork, washes and glazes. Demonstrations may include fun techniques like pouring, splattering and resist, that can only be achieved with the unique medium of watercolor. We will also focus on all the elements of design and how to apply them to create a solid composition.
Ages 16+
SUPPLIES: The Watercolorists Answer Book by Gina Rath (strongly recommended but not required), pencils, erasers [pink and kneaded], palette with large water wells, water container and small spray bottle, small absorbent towel, small pad tracing paper, small pad sketch paper, small watercolor pad, and intermediate grade watercolor brushes [1" flat, #12, #8, #4 round].
