Beginner Students
Wheel 1
Mondays, July 6 - August 24 [8 weeks]: 6 - 9 PM or
Wednesdays, July 8 - August 26 [8 weeks]: 6 - 9 PM [Maggie Packman] Let's get muddy! Through group and individual instruction, students will learn the basics of throwing on a potters wheel including how to throw cylinders and bowls, finishing techniques, constructing handles and other attachments, and various types of surface decoration. Pots will be thrown the first 6 weeks of class, leaving the last 2 weeks for finishing and glazing. Ages 16+ SUPPLIES: 8 Piece Pottery Tool Kit, Also needed are a 1 gallon container to hold supplies/and be a water bucket, an old hand towel, and a full-front apron. $240 Non-Members. $210 Members. Intro to Handbuilding
Thursdays, July 9 - August 27 [8 weeks]: 6 - 9 PM [Kathy Adams]
This is not a wheel throwing class. Students will learn basic ceramic handbuilding techniques to create functional and non-functional ceramics. The class will explore glazing techniques as well as alternative surface decorations and design. Ages 16+ SUPPLIES: 8 Piece Pottery Tool Kit, Also needed are a 1 gallon container to hold supplies/and be a water bucket, an old hand towel, and a full-front apron. $240 Non-Members. $210 Members. Intermediate Students
Ceramics Independent StudyFridays, July 10 - August 28 [8 Weeks]: 6 - 9 PM [Colleen Halford]
Wheel throwers and hand builders take skills acquired from the beginning adult classes and expand their skill sets with instructor input as desired. This is a self driven learning environment with a great sense of community and support towards your individual goals! Intermediate/ Advanced Ceramics
Tuesdays, July 7 - August 25 [8 Weeks]: 6 - 9 PM [Kathy Adams]
Individuals in this class will work independently toward creative goals with instructor and peer input available. Previously completing other beginning and intermediate ceramics courses is highly recommended. Please be ready to share your knowledge with the class! This is a self driven learning environment; if structure is desired, one-on-one teaching with the instructor is available. CANCELLATIONS OR REFUNDS OF CLASS
We do not issue credits, or roll forward tuition.
What is the class refund policy?
Class Refunds for 8-week classes and SAAmplers will be issued at 95% of original purchase price if you cancel 1 week in advance or more before class start date.
Cancellations made less than 1 week in advance will not be eligible for a refund. For example: If you cancel your class 48 hours before the start time, your registration is not valid for a refund. We can not issue credits or roll forward tuition.
In case of medical or family emergency, please give our office a call at 217-523-2631.
