Teen MetalsFridays. January 10 - February 28 (8 WEEKS): 4 - 6 PM [Kaye Demlow]
Is your teen interested in chainmail, jewelry making, or just looking for a new and exciting skill to learn? In this course students will learn the basics of metal fabrication for wearables and small scale sculptural work with instructor Kaye Demlow. Students will learn basic metal-forming, soldering techniques, patinas, enameling, and basic jewelry settings. SUPPLIES: Tools and materials will be provided by SAA for students. Teen FusingMondays. January 6 - February 24 (8 WEEKS): 4 - 6PM [Kaye Demlow]
What is glass and what CAN it do? In this fusing class with instructor Kaye Demlow students will learn about glass fusing and the science behind it! Students will learn how to cut glass, how to use accessory glass, what can glass stick to besides itself, what happens to glass in the kiln, and other cool things you can do with glass and science! SUPPLIES: Students should make sure to wear closed-toed shoes every class. Tools and materials are provided for student use by the SAA. Ages 12-18. $200 Non-Members. $170 Members. Teen Wheel ThrowingWednesdays. January 8 - February 26 (8 WEEKS): 4 - 6PM [Mary Rhein]
Learn to throw pots on the wheel! This class will cover the FUNdamentals of throwing cylinders, bowls, and plates. We will spend the first 6 weeks throwing to leave time the last 2 weeks for finishing and glazing. SUPPLIES: All the supplies will be provided for you by SAA, but be sure to dress for mess! Teen SculptureThursday, January 9 - February 27, 2 - 4 PM [8 WEEKS] (Kaye Demlow)
If your student is interested in all things 3D art, why not have them try a little bit of everything! In this class instructor Kaye Demlow will help students create projects through a variety of sculptural techniques like cardboard and plaster sculpture, glass fusing and casting, small scale metal work, and more! SUPPLIES: All tools and materials are provided by SAA. Students should wear clothes they are comfortable making a mess in and closed-toed shoes. Ages 12-18. $200 Non-Members. $170 Members.
