FULL TIME Manager of Marketing and Development
This position is full-time and works with the SAA core staff in two capacities: to promote programming, classes, exhibitions, and events, and to raise funds through patron and foundation relationships, sponsorships, events, and grant-writing.
Under the immediate supervision of and cooperation with the Executive Director, this position manages marketing and communications, and oversees all development efforts for the organization. Qualifications require a four-year college degree and three years of experience in a public or private organization or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

FULL TIME ART SEASONAL HIRE: Summer Art Camp Instructor -
Hiring for 2023 summer
The Springfield Art Association is seeking a Lead Camp Instructor for ages 4 - High School. This is a contracted hire/ paid position, dates and times vary through the month of May 30 - August 4. 2023. You must have a Degree in Art Education or a Studio Art degree. Camps will cover a wide range of mediums. This is meant as a full-time, 40 hr. work week seasonal position, but is dependent on which camps run. Dates are May 30 - August 4. 2023 and pay rate is $18 Preferred qualifications are a bachelor's degree in a history related field and experience working with a wide age range of children. Hiring for 2023 summer
The Springfield Art Association is seeking a camp instructor for Camp Edwards Place in summer 2023 for historically themed camps. This opportunity is for someone great with kids and with a passion for history. These camps take place in an historic home, with one of SAA’s top missions being to preserve the home. The instructor will be expected to teach various historical topics for up to 12 campers per camp with two half-day camps per week, update the curator on needs for the camp, camp prep before morning and afternoon sessions, and post-camp clean up each day. The Instructor also supervises one camp assistant. This is meant as a full-time, 40 hr. work week seasonal position, but is dependent on which camps run. Dates are June 2 - July 28. 2023 and pay rate is $18. Preferred qualifications are a bachelor's degree in a history related field and experience working with a wide age range of children. PART TIME HISTORY SEASONAL HIRE: History Summer Camp Instructor -
Hiring for 2023 summer

There are two options for this instructor - The instructor will be expected to teach various historical craft topics or to teach 19th century history topics (see Primary Instructor description) for up to 12 campers per camp depending on subject. The duties are to teach one half-day camp each week, update the curator on needs for the camp, camp prep before morning and afternoon sessions, and post-camp clean up each day. This is meant as a part-time, 20 hr. work week seasonal position, but is dependent on which camps run. Dates are June 2 - July 28. 2023 and pay rate is $18. Preferred qualifications are a bachelor's degree in a history or art related field and experience working with a wide age range of children. Requirements for hiring
- You must have a Degree in Art Education or a Studio Art degree: BFA or MFA.
- Or at least 10 years as a professional artist in the medium you are wanting to instruct.
- Portfolio (digital, web, or photos of originals) of at least 10 images of your work
New Hire Instructor Application
- We generally have our hourly pay rate for our instructors beginning at $18 per hour of instruction, plus minimum wage or half your pay rate for an hour of preparation/ clean-up time per class session. . You are paid on a bi-weekly pay period.
- We pay our instructors this way, rather than per student, so that we can maintain a consistent pricing structure. As such, we require a certain number of students per class to remain profitable, and we do not expect instructors to assist us in promoting their classes, but always appreciated.
- If this doesn't work for you, please feel free to start a conversation in the 'Other Notes' section of the instructor application form, and we'll see if we can work something out. But remember, we are a nonprofit community organization dedicated to arts and crafts education (especially for kids in our community... and yes... we're shamelessly trying to tug at your heartstrings a little bit), and we can use all the help we can get!

FULL TIME SEASONAL HIRE: Summer Art Camp Assistants -
Positions are filled the 2023 season
The Springfield Art Association is seeking camp assistants for the May 30 - August 4. 2023. This is a full-time, 40 hr. work week seasonal position. Those that apply must be 16 years and older with an interest in art or the pursuit of an art career. The assistant will be asked to prep and clean up - before and after each camp, maintain tools and materials, secure the safety of the children on breaks and during the session, assist art making during the camp session, and other needs as necessary.
