The Edwards Place Fine Art Fair invites artists who work in a broad range of Fine Art and Craft media to apply. The media categories are 2D (painting in watercolor, oil, acrylic, drawing, pastel, printmaking, collage, calligraphy, mixed media, and paper arts); Ceramic (functional, sculptural, hand built, thrown); Fiber (wearable, decorative); Glass (blown, fused, slumped, cast); Jewelry (precious metal, gems, beaded, other); Photography (film, digital, alternative); Other (book arts, basketry, metal, leather, wood, other). Personas - Deadline April 28The intent of this juried exhibition is to showcase the best in contemporary portraiture.
Media & Specifications We invite of artists of all media,18 years or older, residing in the United States to submit their version of portraiture. All 2D, 3D, and electronic media will be considered. With this exhibition we plan to show both classical and unique approaches to portraits. Entry Fee A $30 non-refundable entry fee is required. Members of the Springfield Art Association pay only $25. Calendar April 28 Deadline for entries May 3 Notification of acceptance May 27 - 31 Receipt of Work at the SAA June 6 Opening Reception and Awards 5:30 to 7:30 PM July 30 Exhibition closes Jurors: TBA Application Requirements This exhibition is open to all artists in all media, 18 years or older, in the United States. Up to three different works may be submitted for the entry fee of $30. All entries must be made through this platform by April 28, no direct mail or email applications will be accepted. Application fees must be paid by the application deadline. Notification of the judges' decisions will be sent on May 3. |
Statewide 2025 - Deadline June 10In response to the Illinois State Fair eliminating the professional visual artist exhibition and competition, the Springfield Art Association has created an alternative: Statewide. Professional artists, ages 21 and above, who are residents of Illinois are invited to submit up to three works of art in any media. All work must be original and completed in the last three years. The show will run from August 8 through August 30, 2025 in the M. G. Nelson Gallery at the Springfield Art Association. The two judges this year will are Sarah Smelser, Printmaking Professor from ISU and award winner in last year's Statewide exhibition, along with her colleague from ISU, Ceramics Professor Albion Stafford.
Opening Reception A reception and awards presentation will be held on Friday, August 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the SAA. Awards A total of $2,600 in prizes will be awarded: First, Second, and Third Place awards will be presented in both 2D and 3D categories. One overall Best of Show will also be chosen. The Enos Park Residency for Visual Artists offers long-term residencies that provide living and studio space and community through which to reflect and engage one’s work. We accept applications from emerging, mid-career, and established artists working in all media, and especially those who emphasize community engagement, social practice, or socially-engaged works.

SAA Collective Juried Artist Applications
Deadline: Every Nov. 15, Feb 15, and June 15
SAA Collective Juried Artist Members have the opportunity to regularly show their work at SAA Collective have a featured artist’s exhibition at the SAA Collective approximately every three years, participate in juried exhibitions in the M.G. Nelson Family Gallery at a discounted rate when applicable, and participate in art outreach, teaching opportunities, and SAA events as desired. |
