The Michael Victor II Art Library serves the Springfield Art Association as a hub of inspiration, research and programs. Students in our classes extend their learning with our technique books and magazines covering topics from ceramics and jewelry-making to drawing and painting with many processes in between. Kids in our summer art camps enjoy exploring our selection of children's books that engage their curiosity and creativity. In addition to its holdings, the library hosts the Molly Schlich Film Series, a huge fall book sale in conjuction with the Edwards Place Fine Art Fair, and the Art History Happy Hour series. New Art-Based Novel Section Coming Soon!
The Michael Victor II Art Library will introduce a brand new art-based novel section to the library by Summer 2023. The section will include fiction and non-fiction stories that immerse the reader in all things art related. The titles shown are already purchased for the library but we need more to fill out the collection. If you have gently used novels that fit this category, please consider donating them to the library by bringing them to SAA Main Campus. We also have a wishlist on Amazon of titles we specifically would love to include. |

Women Artist Donations Needed!
The Michael Victor II Art Library is home to 1000's of books about art but did you know that only a fraction of our collection is about women artists? We want to change that and there are two ways you can help! You can donate any books you already have that are about women artists or simply visit our wishlist on Amazon to purchase a book we already have our eyes on! It doesn't even need to be a new copy so feel free to shop for the best price! You may also request that we add the book to our collection in honor of a special someone and we will include it in the inside cover. Library CatalogOur library consists of 3,500 books and DVDS on artists, art history, and materials. We are a part of SHARE, a collection of libraries in central and southern Illinois forming the largest automation consortium in the country.
