Hop in to some new skills or brush the dirt of some old ones while making some fun spring-inspired mixed media art! This class will have 3 final projects and include lots of creative experimenting with a variety of mediums and techniques to produce them. This class is going to be weird in the best way! We'll be keepin’ it surREAL! as we explore Surreal artists and techniques. We will practice creative exercises and produce pieces in ceramic, pen and ink, painting, collage/mixed media and more depending on the class pace. This class is for anyone looking to try new mediums. If you want to play, experiment, and have fun then this class is for you! Brain ArtWednesday, March 26 - May 14, 9:30 AM - 12 PM (8 Weeks) [Kate Atkinson]
This class will explore different ways creating art can benefit our brains by being meditative, mindful, relaxed, and emotional. We will explore creative exercises in various media such as neurographical pen and ink, abstract synchromism/ synesthesia (creating to music combining colors to sound) painting, bilateral drawing, blind contour drawing, and sensory ceramic sculpture. Come explore, create, and have fun! Due to the nature of this class, your experience and projects are subject to change based on group needs. Sketchbook DevelopmentThursdays, March 27 - May 15, 9:30 AM - 12 PM (8 Weeks) [Kate Atkinson]
Our Fearless Leader, Executive Director, Master Papermaker and Book Artist, Betsy Dollar, will be a guest instructor for our first class where we will make beautiful handmade sketchbooks that we will use for the duration of this course. We will focus on practice not perfection and enjoy the fun of art while doing creative exercises to explore the elements and principles of art.
