In this course students will learn the copper foil process of making Stained Glass windows. Students will learn about the variety of tools, how to cut and grind glass, foiling, and soldering techniques. Supply List: Glass and 7/32" Copper Foil - Tools provided for use at the SAA. Intro To Kilnwork

Wednesdays. September 27 - November 15 (8 Weeks): 1 - 4PM [Kaylee Demlow] In this course students will learn the basics of working with sheet glass in a fusing kiln. Students will learn how to cut glass, the science behind fused glass, and how to fuse and slump glass in the kiln. Tools and some materials provided by SAA for student use. Intro to Torch work

Wednesdays. September 27 - November 15 (8 WEEKS): 6 - 9 PM [Jason LaBonte] Torchwork is a type of glasswork where a torch, or lamp, is primarily used to melt the borro silcia glass. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements. Students will make a series miniature glass works. Intro to Glass Casting
Wednesdays. September 27 - November 15 (8 WEEKS): 6 - 9 PM [Kaylee Demlow] of Fridays. September 29 - November 17 (8 WEEKS): 9AM - NOON [Kaylee Demlow]
In this course students will learn the basics of mold-making for the glass casting process. Students will learn modeling for mold-making, investment mold-making for blow-molds and open-face castings, pâte de verre technique, and coldworking for finishing pieces. Tools and some materials will be provided by SAA for student use. Student cost for further materials will vary depending on project design. SUPPLIES: Closed-toed shoes, natural fiber clothing, N-95 dust mask, modeling tools (optional), pencils, paper, cheap plastic mixing bowls (optional), cheap silicone kitchen tools (optional), Vaseline, hairspray (the cheaper the better), sharpies, casting glass (dependent on project design) $190 Non-Members. $160 Members. In this course adult students will learn the techniques of how to make a leaded Stained Glass window. The students will learn about leaded window tools, the process of cutting glass, how to glaze a leaded window, the soldering process, and cementing. Previously completing Introduction to Stained Glass course is highly recommended. Glass, amount needed will depend on the complexity of your design. Tools will be provided by the SAA. Geometric Stained Glass Lamp Class

3D Stained Glass

In this course students will learn how to build three dimensional stained glass projects of their choice. Some options could be, jewelry boxes, candle holders, or terrariums. In the process students will learn to cut glass, grind, foil and solder the 3-D projects. In this class, we will go through more advanced shapes such as cone, inverted cone, and spheres. We will touch on handles and bits added to the glass. Goblets GlassTuesdays. October 17 - November 28 (7 WEEKS): 6 - 9 PM [Mario Clarke]
This is a technical glass blowing class on how to build goblets. Taking glass 1 and 2 should be a must beforehand. We will start with the basics of goblet parts foot, stem, and bell and the connecting parts, ie mereces and avolios. Along with learning how to make goblets, you will also learn how to manage parts in the garage, make better punties, and fined tuned team working skills!
