Intro to Stained Glass
Mondays, January 6 - February 24 (8 WEEKS) 6 - 9PM or Tuesdays, January 7 - February 24 (8 WEEKS) 9AM - Noon or 1 - 4 PM or Wednesdays, January 8 - February 26, 6 - 9PM [Morgan]
In this course students will learn the copper foil process of making Stained Glass windows. Students will learn about the variety of tools, how to cut and grind glass, foiling, and soldering techniques. Supply List: Glass and 7/32" Copper Foil and 60 /40 1 roll of Solder - Tools provided for use at the SAA. Student cost for materials will depend on size and complexity of design. Intro to Torch Work
Tuesdays, January 7 - February 25 (8 WEEKS): 6 - 9PM or Wednesdays, January 8 - February 26, 1 - 4PM [Jason LaBonte]
Torchwork is a type of glasswork where a torch, or lamp, is primarily used to melt the borro silcia glass. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements. Students will make a series miniature glass works. Intro to Mosaics
Mondays, January 6 - February 25 (8 WEEKS) 1 - 4PM [Morgan]
In this course students will complete several mosaic projects. Students will learn how to cut and form glass into their desired shapes, adhere glass onto different surfaces, and and seal them into place. We will work on small and large scale projects through the course. One project will be a collaborate public art piece that will be installed in SAA's Bison Sculpture courtyard, while the rest you will be able to take home with you at time of completion. Supplies: All Supplies will be provided for you by SAA for the first few projects. Students will be responsible for materials for specific or sizes, designs, or quantities beyond the first three projects. Age: 16+ $215 Non-Members. $185 Members. Glassblowing 1

This is a beginning course in glassblowing that will teach you the fundamentals of the studio: tools and equipment usage, glassblowing techniques that will lead to finished products in the cold shop. Intermediate Students
Intro to Leaded Stained GlassThursdays. January 9 - February 28 (8 Weeks): 6 - 9PM [Morgan]
In this course adult students will learn the techniques of how to make a leaded Stained Glass window. The students will learn about leaded window tools, the process of cutting glass, how to glaze a leaded window, the soldering process, and cementing. Previously completing Introduction to Stained Glass course is highly recommended. Glass, amount needed will depend on the complexity of your design. 3D Stained Glass
Thursdays, January 9 - February 27(8 Weeks): 1 - 4PM [Morgan]
In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of building 3D projects with stained glass. This could include, candle holders, jewelry boxes, terrariums, flowers and more! Students will complete several projects over the course of eight weeks. SUPPLIES: Glass, 7/32" black back copper tape, 60/40 1 roll of solder. Stained Glass Lamp
Fridays, January 10 - February 28, 1 - 4PM [Morgan]
In this class you will learn how to build a geometric stained glass lamp. You will select a design of your choice or creation. Lamps will be four to eight sides. Over the nine weeks, you will learn pattern making, precise glass cutting and 3D soldering. Supply List: Glass and 7/32" Copper Foil and 60 /40 1 roll of Solder - Tools provided for use at the SAA. Glass & Movement [Warm Glass Sampler]Thursdays. January 9 - February 27, 6-9 PM or Fridays, January 10 - February 28, 1-4 PM (8 WEEKS): [Kaylee Demlow]
What happens to glass in the kiln? How far can you stretch it? How hot can it get? Do you have lots of questions about glass art? Then Glass and Movement with instructor Kaye Demlow may be for you! Learn about the science behind glass and heat by creating fused glass plates and 3D casted pieces in the kiln. Experience the flow and stretch of molten glass by pulling cane, blowing ornaments, and sculpting flowers in the hot shop studio. Though some time will be spent in the hot shop, this is not a glass blowing class. SUPPLIES: Closed-toed shoes, natural fiber clothing, and N-95 dust mask. Technique Specific: Glass Fusing Pattern PlayTuesdays. January 7 - January 28, 6-9 PM (4 WEEKS): [Kaylee Demlow]
Get glass specific with instructor Kaye Demlow in this four week intensive focusing on glass pattern bar creation and utilization. Each week will focus on a different aspect of creating a kiln-fused piece out of a pattern bar. Class is open to any students with any previous glass experience. SUPPLIES: Close toe shoes and N-95 dust mask. Students can purchase glass prior to class (our studio uses Bullseye COE 90, so students are encouraged to purchase the same COE for compatibility purposes). Technique Specific: Glass Casting with FashionTuesdays. February 4 - February 25, 6-9 PM (4 WEEKS): [Kaylee Demlow]
Get glass specific with instructor Kaye Demlow and a four week intensive focusing on casting fabric items using the lost-wax method. Each week we will break down the steps of creating a casted piece using a fabric model and wax. Class is open to any students with any 3D experience. SUPPLIES: Close toe shoes and N-95 dust mask.
