Beginner Students
Intro to Stained Glass
Mondays, September 30 - November 18 (8 WEEKS) 1 - 4PM or 6 - 9PM or Tuesdays, October 1 - November 19 (8 WEEKS) 9AM - Noon or 1 - 4PM or Fridays, October 4 - November 22, 1 - 4PM
In this course students will learn the copper foil process of making Stained Glass windows. Students will learn about the variety of tools, how to cut and grind glass, foiling, and soldering techniques. Supply List: Glass and 7/32" Copper Foil - Tools provided for use at the SAA. Intro to Torch Work
Tuesdays, October 1 - November 19 (8 WEEKS): 6 - 9PM [Jason LaBonte]
Torchwork is a type of glasswork where a torch, or lamp, is primarily used to melt the borro silcia glass. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements. Students will make a series miniature glass works. You will possibly move into hollow forms depending on your skill development. Ages 16+ Max Students is 5. SUPPLIES: Are provided by SAA $205 Non-Members. $175 Members. Intro to Mosaics
Wednesdays, October 2 - November 20 (8 WEEKS) 1 - 4PM
In this course students will complete several mosaic projects. Students will learn how to cut and form glass into their desired shapes, adhere glass onto different surfaces, and and seal them into place. We will work on small and large scale projects through the course. One project will be a collaborate public art piece that will be installed in SAA's Bison Sculpture courtyard, while the rest you will be able to take home with you at time of completion. Glassblowing 1

This is a beginning course in glassblowing that will teach you the fundamentals of the studio: tools and equipment usage, glassblowing techniques that will lead to finished products in the cold shop. Intermediate Students
Intro to Leaded Stained GlassWednesdays. October 2 - November 20 (8 Weeks): 6 - 9PM
In this course adult students will learn the techniques of how to make a leaded Stained Glass window. The students will learn about leaded window tools, the process of cutting glass, how to glaze a leaded window, the soldering process, and cementing. Previously completing Introduction to Stained Glass course is highly recommended. Glass, amount needed will depend on the complexity of your design. Tools will be provided by the SAA. 3D Stained Glass
Thursdays, October 3 - November 21 (8 Weeks): 6 - 9PM
In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of building 3D projects with stained glass. This could include, candle holders, jewelry boxes, terrariums, flowers and more! Students will complete several projects over the course of eight weeks. SUPPLIES: Glass, 7/32" black back copper tape Previously completing Introduction to Stained Glass course is highly recommended. Glass Casting 2
Tuesdays. October 1 - November 19 (8 WEEKS): 6 - 9 PM [Kaylee Demlow]
In this course students will learn intermediate methods of mold-making for the glass casting process. Students will learn how to make mother molds, the lost-wax method, how to work on a larger scale, how to make pâte de verre vessels, and more advanced coldworking. Tools and some materials will be provided by SAA for student use. Student cost for further materials will vary depending on project design. Age 18+ SUPPLIES: Closed-toed shoes, natural fiber clothing, N-95 dust mask, modeling tools (optional), pencils, paper, cheap plastic mixing bowls (optional), cheap silicone kitchen tools (optional), Vaseline, hairspray (the cheaper the better), sharpies, casting glass (dependent on project design) $200 Non-Members. $170 Members. Glassblowing 2/3
Tuesdays, October 1 - November 19 (8 WEEKS): 1 - 4PM [Mario Clarke]
In this class, we will go through more advanced shapes such as cone, inverted cone, and spheres. We will touch on handles and bits added to the glass. Focus for the the repeat students will be on color application such as cane, murrine and Graal techniques. Plus much more! Max Students is 6. In this class, we will go through more advanced shapes and forms an extension to the Glass 2 class. There will be room for independent study and exploration into glass to further your personal goals.
