"I have been a practicing artist and art educator for over 30 years.  Like most artists I thrive on exploration and experimentation.  This has taken me into glass, oil, acrylic, watercolor painting and clay construction.  Learning traditional materials and methods has provided a spring board for my insatiable curiosity and often unusual treatments and interpretations.  My personality is concrete abstract.  I learn the rules and procedures, so that I can play and change them.

There are two elements central to all of my work.  First is the desire to study analyze, experiment and plan.  Second is my love of natural compositions, color, light and lines.  This fascination with temporal forms closely parallels Art Nouveau with its sensual imagery and flowing grace.  Much of my work is guided by nature and often incorporates organic materials.

A great deal of my glass work is three dimensional: kaleidoscopes, boxes and jewelry.  When working with glass I incorporate traditional construction as well as contemporary hot glass techniques such as fusing and torch work.  My pieces often have inset stones, crystals, abalone and other natural materials.

My paintings, watercolor, oil and acrylic range from detailed nature studies to dark abstracts.  The expansive range of treatments inspires me to continue exploring new interpretations.  This pendulum of art play keeps my interest keened and expands my capabilities.

I have a B.A. in Art education and MLS (Master of Legal Studies).  I have been an art education instructor with: UIS, the Springfield Art Association, Springfield Arts Council, Prairie Art Alliance, Springfield School District 186 and the Williamsville Sherman School District.

My work is in many private and some business collections in countries ranging from Finland to Brazil. I have been featured in and participated in several exhibits and shows in the Midwest."
