Kate Worman-Becker
"If anyone spends a short amount of time in central Illinois they will quickly discover the origins for many of my paintings. The flatness of the land and the openness of the sky have a minimalist quality that I can’t resist capturing from time to time. However, the character of the faces, whether human or animal, that call this rural landscape home, are an unending inspiration to me. Every face is beautiful and worthy of a work of art."
Kate Worman-Becker grew up in a farming community where she developed a loved of the outdoors and a passion for drawing the people and animals that live in this region. Always intrigued by the challenge and potential of watercolors, Kate took up the medium in 2008. A year later she devoted herself full-time to pursuing art. Since then she has earned signature memberships in the Illinois and Missouri Watercolor Societies. She has also taught watercolor at the Prairie Palette Art Gallery in Petersburg. Currently, she teaches at the Springfield Art Association. Her award winning paintings have been selected in numerous national and international exhibitions throughout the Midwest. |
