Celebrate the wonders of Illinois through photography. We’re looking for your best shots taken anywhere in Illinois or on it's waters. The winning photos will be featured in Illinois Times and displayed throughout July at the SAA Collective located at the Hoogland Center for the Arts. Contest proceeds benefit the operations of the Collective, a department of the Springfield Art Association, a nonprofit visual arts organization committed to promoting and supporting the visual arts, provides art education opportunities for the greater Springfield area.
2018 Submission Deadline: Friday, June 1, 2018 (Entries accepted beginning March 1) Classes: Adult, Teen 13 - 17, Youth 12 and under Categories: People/Portrait, Places, Nature, and Altered Images NEW LOWER FEES! Adult: $10 per photo Youth: $5 per photo Judging: Three professional anonymous photographers will serve as judges. Judges will not have access to photographer names until winners have been selected. All decisions of the judges are final. Awards and prizes: Judges chose a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner in each class category. Best of Show was chosen from all submissions. All winners will receive a print of their winning photo courtesy of our sponsors. Best in Show will receive $300 cash! Adult 1st place winners receive $75 cash. Youth winners receive gift certificates to local businesses. Sixth St., Springfield, IL 62701. Winning photos will be on display from July 5 – July 26, 2018. A selection of winning photos will be published in the July 5 edition of Illinois Times. Publication / show rights: Entrant is the owner of the copyright of each photograph submitted. By entering in the contest, entrant grants permission to display photos in the gallery, publish them in Illinois Times, and use in other promotional material as they see fit.
