The M.G. Nelson Family Gallery brings a variety of high-quality visual arts from the traditional to the most contemporary, from a cross the country to Springfield's front door. An average of twelve exhibitions rotate through the gallery each year. These exhibitions represent art from as close as the elementary school across the street and as far away as Russia.

Reception: Friday, April 5, 5:30 - 7:30 PM At this exhibit you have the opportunity to touch the art that is on display. This inclusive exhibition includes stone, ceramics, paper, fiber, painting, glass, wood and wall pieces created by artists from Illinois at California, Minnesota, Indiana, and Colorado that participants can experience through both touch and sound. The wall text and labels in the gallery are also accessible in a large-print version. It is suggested that you upload a free app for your phone called Seeing AI that will read the descriptions of the artworks. This allows an audio tour of the art pieces once the app is downloaded. Please use earphones to hear the descriptions so others in the gallery are not disturbed. Some headphones will be available or you can bring your own.
