​SAA T-Shirt Design Contest

​Contest Winner Receives $250

Design Submissions Due: February 28, 2025
Registration Guidelines: Any Illinois resident of all ages

​Design Criteria:

• The T-Shirt Design must be your own original, unpublished work. By entering the competition, you agree that your submission is your own work, and the Springfield Art Association (SAA) has exclusive rights to use your design.
• The T-Shirt is intended for children and adults in a unisex format.
• The Springfield Art Association (or SAA) name or logo should be included in the design (either incorporated into the design itself or present on the shirt). 
  • Standard SAA logo*(can be changed to black or white)
  • Splatter SAA logo*(can be changed to white or SAA blue)

*Logos must remain in our standard colors of black, white, or SAA blue. We can send you our exact SAA blue and additional logos if requested. The standard logo does not need to include "Visual Art Center". If you just use the name Springfield Art Association (or SAA), that can be in any color.

• As the designer, you get to recommend the color of the T-Shirt that you believe best compliments your design, however the Springfield Art Association retains the right to choose a shirt color in collaboration with the designer if original selection is not suitable.
• The design can utilize up to 2 printed colors.
• You are allowed to submit up to 3 different designs into the contest.
• Your design entry should include:
  • A high resolution JPG or PNG of just the design image.
  • A JPG or PNG of the design placed on a t-shirt template to show the design placement. Size and garment color is not required but would be helpful. There are free online programs of your choice for T-Shirt mock-ups.
  • The designer's signature incorporated into the design in an unobtrusive way is allowed.
• Submit your designs using the form on this webpage.

T-Shirt Design Judging Criteria:

• Our contest judges will evaluate the T-Shirt design based on the following criteria:
  • Submission meets criteria stated above
  • Creativity and innovation
  • Eye appeal, color and layout
• The judges will include representatives of the Springfield Art Association's staff and Board of Directors.

Contest Awards (Announced March 7, 2025):

• The winning designer will receive a $250 reward.
• The top five designs will be featured in a SAA social media post.

Purpose of T-Shirt:
The winning design will be printed on high quality t-shirts and sold/given away at Springfield Art Association events as marketing material.
