Mondays January 15 - March 5: 2 - 5 PM [Meghan Reese] Open to students who have previously taken Intro to Metals & Jewelry class or have prior metals & jewelry experience; students should have a basic knowledge of hand tools, studio equipment and soldering. This session will have an emphasis on stone setting, specifically fabricating a tube setting and heavy-walled bezels; if time allows we will also discuss prong setting for faceted stones. Students will also receive instruction on an individual basis as interests vary.
Supplies: Sharpie markers (fine point), mechanical pencils, jewelry pliers and tools if you have them, stones, metals, copper, silver sheet, if you have them. Many tools and base metals are available in the studio. Students will have the opportunity to purchase silver if needed as a group.
