Growing up during the Apollo era, I dreamed of becoming an astronaut. While that dream has yet to be realized, it sparked a lifelong fascination with astronomy and the night sky that continues to inspire my work today. Astrophotography allows me to express myself both scientifically and artistically. Using telescopes and specialized cameras, I collect faint light from distant nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters, often over multiple nights or even weeks. The resulting images are shaped through careful processing and artistic interpretation. While some works begin with traditional astronomical color palettes, I often reimagine those colors to emphasize forms, textures, and relationships that capture my imagination. I am fascinated by how subtle changes in color can reveal depth, shape, and detail in entirely new ways. My work explores the intersection of discovery, science, and creativity. Initially, I was drawn to the technical challenge of capturing objects that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Over time, I became increasingly interested in the artistic possibilities hidden within the data. As I study the night sky, I often experience the same sense of wonder I felt as a child. Much as people discover shapes and stories in passing clouds, I find unexpected forms and landscapes among the stars. Through my photographs, I hope to bring these distant celestial wonders closer to home and invite viewers to share in the beauty, mystery, and awe of the universe around us.
