Paint the Street will be the similar to years past, where we take over Washington Street in Downtown Springfield and paint 6 ft x 6 ft squares. The squares will be placed further apart, but will still create a communal atmosphere, as long as COVID regulations allow. Each square registration will receive one paint supply bucket (including the tempera paint we will be using which is water soluble/washable), one giveaway bag with goodies from sponsors, and one Paint the Street t-shirt. T-shirt sizes will limited for registrations entered after June 1.
$35 per square
$45 per Professional Category square
Members save $5! Don't forget to 'sign in' when registering online.
To limit numbers on the street, participants will paint in time slots. You will have 4 hours to complete your square, either 11 AM - 3 PM or 3 PM- 7 PM.
Check-in will begin 15 minutes prior to your start time. You may arrive any time during your time slot, but you must be exiting the street by the end of your time slot. This year's event is pre-registration only. No day-of registrations.
Registration closes at Noon, June 25th.
Special requests for spots can unfortunately not be accommodated this year. If you'd like to paint next to friends or family, the squares must be purchased together in the same sales order. Squares will be distanced further than previous years. The mask mandates in place on June 26 will be enforced.
Professional Category - You may purchase a square for $10 extra to be entered in the Professional Art Category. You'll have the chance to win cash prizes by entering in this category, and will have six hours to complete your painting. The Professional Category time slot is NOON-6 PM. This category will have access to an endless amount of paint.
On the registration page, please only enter adults' names. Do not type a child's name under Registrant.
'Artist Name' is only intended for the Professional Category.

When is the Festival?
June 26, 2021:
Paint the Street:
Painting begins at 11 AM and continues until 7 PM
Paint the Driveway:
Painting begins when the artist decides to head to their driveway and continues until 10 PM, or whenever the artist finishes their work
Who is Painting?
Everyone: Artists, families, businesses, clubs, friends, and the community at large. Certain community charities of SAA and PNC's choosing will receive a paint suppliy bucket free of charge.
What are you Painting?
It is completely up to you! - a portrait, business logo, a Jackson Pollock!
For Paint the Driveway participants, we encourage you to stick to a 6 ft x 6 ft square, to keep the same feel as Paint the Street. The amount of paint you'll be given will only cover that approximate size.
We do retain the right to censor, at our discretion, content that is not appropriate for the general public.
Where are you Painting?
Paint the Street: The event will block off Washington from 4th to 8th Streets. No painting will happen on the cobblestone between 5th and 6th Streets. There will be more than 6 feet between each square to give you plenty of room to social distance.
Paint the Driveway: If you purchase this registration. The event will happen in your driveway. This is tempera paint and will wash away over time. We advice that you mix 1/4 cup of laundry detergent with each color of paint for ease of removal. If you don't have a driveway, any pavement will do!
