Michelle Ryan - Glass

Hot glass is scary magic. It begins soft and dynamic, but becomes cold, hard, and still. I like to expand on this inherent contrast by adding surprising visual elements to my work. Most of the time, these are things that just make me laugh. My glass tells stories of growing and flowing through recognizable symbols of life. They depict a unique moment in time--like a photograph--and the memory evokes a smile.
