Mary "Midge" Langfelder - Painting
Mary Langfelder received a Bachelors of Art in Visual Arts from the University of Illinois at Springfield and also studies at Lincoln Land Community College, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and the College of St. Francis, Lafayette, Indiana. She taught art at St. Agnes Grade School for 8 years. She also received several awards for her art including Honors in Art from Lincoln Land Community College and the Life Long Learner Award at the University of Illinois at Springfield.
Here she exhibits a retrospective of work to illustrate the growth and depth of her style over the years. “I have always loved to explore color. The use of color enhances each piece, but if the elements of the composition are poorly structured, the color cannot correct your mistakes. The artist has artistic freedom, which may explain that you may see an object distorted, but the artist’s eye is different.” |
