Mary Fierce - Jewelry
Relationships are the focus of my art. It is about taking action to improve my relationship with the Earth by cleaning roadway trash into upcycled components for jewelry. It's also about listening to the body for stories from "issues in the tissues" enlivened through dance. Additionally, it is about the relationship between materials in a piece.
I got started making earrings because I am an earring junkie. Even during the pandemic, I have been wearing earrings even with a mask. Having something dangling from my ears that is uplifting, a secret message I am sending to the world, brings me joy and feels right.
My earrings are made using glass beads, common and sem-precious stones, metal and ceramic components, and upcycled materials.
