Jane Frey - Painting
This collection of acrylic paintings was inspired by the beautiful landscape of the Shawnee National Forest in southern Illinois, and the upper peninsula of Michigan. The rock paintings were inspired by my collection of rocks from the eastern shore of Lake Superior.
I have spent days hiking and climbing through the rocky stream beds searching for just the right combination of light, water reflections, and rock formations that make the best composition for my paintings. The color I use, or I should say combination of many colors to achieve one color, is the key to my success as a painter. It is my hope that my love for the beauty of nature is conveyed in this group of paintings. |
