Gregory Pratt - Photography
I’ve had a camera in my hands since I was six years old. It has always been my primary means of expressing creativity and artistic visions. I capture these visions through conceptual portraiture featuring human subjects, as well as through images of natural and man-made objects I encounter during my daily travels.
I find inspiration for my work in poems, short stories, and storyline concepts that I have written or read. Additionally, I draw influence from the works of various artists who have inspired me. My artistic range includes conceptual portraiture, “Americana”-style representations of man-made and natural subjects, and abstract interpretations of these themes. I use editing software sparingly, aiming to create as many photos as possible using the equipment at hand and the diverse subjects I capture. My goal with my art is to inspire and evoke emotions in viewers. While their interpretations may differ from the vision I had when creating the work, if I can elicit an emotional reaction, I consider my objective fulfilled. |
