​In response to the Illinois State Fair eliminating the professional artist exhibition and competition, the Springfield Art Association has created an exhibition alternative: No Place to Show. Professional artists, ages 21 and above, who are residents of Illinois are invited to submit up to three works of art in any media. All work must be original and completed in the last three years. The show will run from July 15 through August 6, 2022 in the M. G. Nelson Gallery at the Springfield Art Association located less than two miles from the Illinois State Fair grounds. 

A total of $1,200 in prizes will be awarded. Best of Show, First, Second, Third Place and two Honorable Mentions will be chosen by the judge. Bob Sill, Director of Collections and Research at the Illinois State Museum will be the judge. Bob brings years of experience working will Illinois' artists for exhibitions and collections at the State Museum. 

Entry Fee:  $15, may submit up to 3 entries

​Eligibility

Must be a K-12 Art Educator currently working in Illinois. All fine art media are accepted, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, fiber, glass, mixed media, digital/video media, ceramics, and jewelry. All works must be original and completed within the last year. 

How to Submit Your Work

Artists can submit as many as 5 artworks via SlideRoom by Friday, April 29th 2022. Artists must complete the SlideRoom application Art Educator Exhibition 2022 (NOTE: If it says PROGRAM IS UNAVAILABLE, just click OK and then click the link to the program as long as it’s before April 29th)
 
Entry Fee - $40.00

A $40.00 non-refundable entry fee will be required for all Artists submitting  artwork. 
Full Details
The Edwards Place Fine Art Fair invites artists who work in a broad range of Fine Art and Craft media to apply. The media categories are 2D (painting in watercolor, oil, acrylic, drawing, pastel, printmaking, collage, calligraphy, mixed media, and paper arts); Ceramic (functional, sculptural, hand built, thrown); Fiber (wearable, decorative), Glass (blown, fused, slumped, cast); Jewelry (precious metal, gems, beaded, other); Photography (film, digital, alternative); Other (book arts, basketry, metal, leather, wood, other). First Place and Honorable Mention awards are given in each media category plus Best of Show and Best Newcomer. The Springfield Art Association provides a complimentary artist breakfast and lunch both days, and the Artist's Award reception Saturday evening. Overnight security is provided both Friday and Saturday nights. Booth sitters are provided throughout the fair, however they are not allowed to sell for the artists. 
All award winners from the 2021 fair will be given a coupon code that waives the jury fee.

Enos Park Residency for Visual Artists

The Enos Park Residency for Visual Artists offers long-term residencies that provide living and studio space and community through which to reflect and engage one’s work. We accept applications from emerging, mid-career, and established artists working in all media, and especially those who emphasize community engagement, social practice, or socially-engaged works.

SAA Collective Juried Artist Members have the opportunity to regularly show their work at 
SAA Collective have a featured artist’s exhibition at the SAA Collective approximately every three years, participate in juried exhibitions in the M.G. Nelson Family Gallery at a discounted rate when applicable, and participate in art outreach, teaching opportunities, and SAA events as desired.

The Springfield Art Association requests exhibition proposals from artists and curators for the M.G. Nelson Family Gallery exhibition calendar. 
​
We are requesting proposals from individual artists and groups in all media.  Each exhibition will span approximately four weeks.  All proposals will be juried and exhibitions will be awarded on merit of work. Individual artists may be paired with other artists for optimal gallery utilization.
