"I have lived in Springfield the last 30 years and continue working in both healthcare and woodworking – equal passions. I retired from full-time healthcare executive positions in 2008 but continue on a consultative basis in the field. My interest in woodworking began with re-doing our outdated kitchen and supplying grandchildren with toy boxes and my wife with new furniture for our home.
I work primarily in oak and walnut and concentrate my efforts on craftsman and prairie style furniture. Simple lines, beautifully patterned woods and attention to detail are hallmarks of my approach. Most of our home has been furnished through my efforts and have also provided many items – large and small – to family and friends. Being relatively new to woodworking and furniture crafting – 25 years of learning – I continue to experiment with new designs and techniques. I view woodworking as a lifelong journey of experimentation – always finding new approaches to design and execution and, enjoying the by-product of a creative outlet that helps me relax." |
