Barb Maddox - Jewelry
I grew up in Wildwood, Illinois and moved to Springfield in 1977. I am married to Matthew with whom I raised our daughter Claire. Claire is a fourth grade teacher at Robert Dulles Elementary School, Chicago. I am so blessed to have my loving husband and beautiful, talented daughter.
I started out small with stretch bracelets, earrings and necklaces, but then discovered bead embroidery. Eureka! Typically I use the focal bead as inspiration and design the piece around it. I like the free-form style of blending texture, size and color to create the random visual interest of each piece. Surprisingly the most difficult part of each piece is not the actual beading but the finishing construction of the piece. I hate sewing on buttons but can bead tiny beads for hours. Go figure.
I hope you like the designs you see. They are wearable art from my heart and hand. Enjoy.
