About
The SAA Community is coming together for 12 hours on the day in 1913 that the SAA was founded by seven local women (Elizabeth Capps, Georgia Miner, Harriet Cantrell, Alice Jess, Margaret Brooks, Sarah Deal, and Grace Noblett) to advance the SAA's mission and secure its future. This founding was triggered by the generosity of Alice Ferguson, who provided these women a permanent space to advance their mission.
The Art of Giving Day is a moment to honor our "founding mothers" and to bring together our community to show pride in the impact that the SAA has made on their behalf. Our founding mothers vision was simple: art is beauty, and every human, regardless of gender, race, financial status, etc., deserves beauty in their lives. Their commitment to creating an inclusive space for all to appreciate and engage in art has echoed through the organization and we strive to impact the lives of every Central Illinois citizen and beyond. Every gift and shared message helps strengthen our programming and the opportunities that we can provide to everyone in our community. Imagine what we can do when we come together!

Thanks to the generosity of our Executive Director, Betsy Dollar, gifts made by SAA students and teachers throughout the day will be matched up to $1,000. |
