Why party at the SAA?
The Springfield Art Assocation is the oldest visual ars organization in the city, and has been a leader in promoting and supporting the arts for almost 100 years! The SAA promotes its mission of providing arts in our community and has a School of Art, with multiple labs & studios; Edwards Place Historic Home, the oldest home in Springfield on its original foundation; the Michael Victor II Art Library, home to more than 3,000 art volumes available to the public; and a Gallery of Art, exhibiting local & regional artists and shows. |

Star of the party!
Did you know that planning a party at the SAA is a piece of birthday cake? In just 3 simple steps, you'll be on your way!
1. Schedule your party.
Call the SAA to make sure the School is ready to party when you are! To avoid space conflicts with art classes, we ask parties be booked at least 10 days in advance of the desired date!
2. Pick a project.
We will help you choose a high-quality art project that your child will love to make with their friends! When the party is over, each guest will have a fun art project; a decorated photo frame, and a picture of the party group.
3. Celebrate your special day!
You are ready to paint the town...it's your birthday!

Let's plan a party!
A party at the SAA isn't just simple & stress-free--it's fun too! There are just a couple things on the checklist below to get the paint rollin'!
The parent or guardian is asked to bring:
⇒ Birthday Treat*
⇒ Refreshments
⇒ Decorations**
*Hey, it's a party! Feel free to bring a birthday cake, snacks, pizza, etc. The SAA asks the host to bring the food, to avoid problems with allergies. Our break room and regfrigerator are available for use and storage.
The SAA happily provides:
⇒ Project Preparation
⇒ Staff instruction & oversight
⇒ Party set-up and take-down |
Party Information, Pricing & Policies
Parties are two hours; can be scheduled during the week or on Saturdays; and take place in the Condell Studio at the SAA. The studio rental of $50 serves as a non-refundable deposit to reserve the party date, and is due at the time of booking.
Although we are certain no invited guest would want to miss this party, we do ask the parent or guardian of the birthday guest of honor be present--though we're sure you won't want to miss it! (The SAA staff will also need all hands on deck in terms of transitions, directions, etc.) We also ask the birthday party hosts provide all food & party-related items.
The price for a party at the SAA is $130 ($100 for SAA Members!), and includes:
• 2 hour rental fee of Condell Studio
• Supplies for the art project & photo frames
• Photography and printing materials
• SAA staff instruction for up to 12 children
