Are you interested in teaching a particular media, or introduction class, or facilitating a workshop?
Do you want to make the SAA studios your own, with students in tow, as you lead with creative instruction and self-expression? If you answered "YES!!," we want you to join the SAA Faculty!

The Springfield Art Association is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2011 teaching roster. The SAA offers classes in 2-and-3-dimensional media for youth and adults throughout the year. Classes are quarterly and run January-March, April-June, July-August and September-December in our various studios.

We also have a wonderful Summer Art Camp that runs June 13 through July 29.
Currently, we are looking for a Co-Instructor that will facilitate the prep, planning and on-site programming of Summer Art Camp's six sessions. The ideal candidate will have:
 • camp or similar field experience
• educational background in art and/or education
• strong organizational, intrapersonal skills, and a positive, creative attitude.

We are also hiring two Art Camp assistants that will execute the day-to-day instruction and program implementation under the supervision of the Camp Instructors. The ideal candidate will have
:
• attended or is attending a college or university with a major in Education or Art,
• have previous camp or field experience
• be friendly, organized and willing to work with others in a creative group environment.

To be considered for a teaching, Instructor or Assistant position at the Springfield Art Association, please submit the following:

1. Current Resume, outlining educational and professional experience teaching.
3 references encouraged.

2. Cover letter, 1 to 2 pages in length explaining your interest in the organization
and your teaching experience.

3. Course Offering Form
(download here) and Syllabus for projected class
(Not necessarily if applying for camp)


4. Portfolio of your work, 5 to 10 images, if your class is studio-based.
